The German side were ahead after 33 minutes, as Austrian midfielder Michael Liendl converted a penalty, following a handball in the box.

Freddie Sears put Town on level terms, two minutes, later, as he lobbed goalkeeper Michael Rensing

However, the hosts regained the lead prior to half-time, as Joel Pohjanpalo tapped the ball home past Bialowski.

Brett Pitman grabbed his third Ipswich goal ahead of the hour mark, with Arsenal loanee Ainsley Maitland Niles firing home, ten minutes after, to put the Suffolk side ahead.

Kevan Hurst put the Shrimpers in front, as he fired home John White's cross in the 20th minute, past West Ham keeper Randolph.

However, West Ham were back on level term soon after, as Dimitri Payet curled home a free-kick, from 25-yards out. Payet converted an effort, moments after, slotting home, to put the visitors in front.

Jack Payne got the hosts back into the game, as he headed home from close range, prior to half-time.

The Premier League side were back in front, as Payet fired an effort goal-bound, with defender Luke Prosser tapping the ball into his own net.

Payet was again the creator for the Hammers, and his low cross missed a few players but Prosser was the unfortunate man who ended up slicing the ball into his own net.
