About

FANbase is an independent fan website edited by Louis Byers. The website has been live since summer 2011 and brings the latest news from East Anglian football clubs - professional and non-league based.

FANbase started in 2011 when a weekly fanzine was published which had match reports and news articles from the previous week's football involving Ipswich Town, Colchester United, Southend United and Braintree Town. It was sold and brought by a small number of readers who enjoyed, and recommended the magazine.

A season later, FANbase increased their coverage by reporting on local sides AFC Sudbury and Chelmsford City, which attracted more fans.

Since the 2013-2014 season, the publication was closed, and coverage was moved online. A wider audience has picked up on the content and become frequent visitors, with the coverage now including Reserve team football at Step 9 on the English football pyramid.
