Bentley secures Southend victory / Clarets edge Trophy replay
Goalkeeper Bentley was Southend's hero as the Blues progressed through the Third Round of the FA Cup as they beat Bury in a home replay on penalties. Bury took the lead through loan-star fired a shot past Bentley following a poor ball by Cresswell. Tomlin equalised as he headed in a cross from Clohessy.
The likely tie appears to be the Blues hosting Brentford, following Bradford being thrown out due to fielding an ineligible player in the Brentford-Bradford match.
Meanwhile, Chelmford have progressed through to Round Two of the FA Trophy, following a five-goal thriller at the Melbourne Stadium.
The Essex outfit took a two-goal lead through Brindley and Cook, netting with the first five minutes. Simmonds grabbed a third goal with a header while Jenkins and Bettamer pulled back two strikes for Borough. Chelmford will visit Conference Premier side Hereford in the second round at Edgar Street.
