Blues take on Terriers / U's host in-form Tranmere - 23.2.13 Matchday preview

Mick McCarthy says his side's trip to Huddersfield is set to be a huge game when Ipswich take on the Terriers at the John Smith's Stadium this afternoon. The Blues boss says it's important that his side takes the three points with the Terriers winning one out of their last 16 matches. McCarthy appears to have a full squad to choose from with Stearman recovering from his dislocated finger. Huddersfield have been conceding many goals but the Tractor Boys have only scored 8 goals in their last ten away matches.

Tranmere are the visitors to the Weston Holmes Stadium this afternoon with the U's taking on the in-form side. The match could be vital for Colchester as fellow relegation rivals Oldham and Scunthorpe take on Portsmouth and Hartlepool respectively. Tranmere have lost their past four matches but the U's have won their last three home games despite losing to Sheffield United last weekend. Even a draw with keep the U's in the bottom four so Colchester are desperate for a win.

Southend boss Paul Sturrock has urged his side to use their midweek clash against Leyton Orient as the 'tonic' to get back on track in the league. The League Two promotion candidates travel to Wycombe Wanderers looking to pick up three points following two straight defeats. Laird, Tomlin, Phillips, Timlin and Lavery will miss the match due to their injuries while Mohsni serves his second match ban. Cresswell is back following his match ban. Wycome lost their previous two matches (1-0 away to Bristol R, 3-0 home to Bradford) although won the previous three.

No match for Braintree today in the Conference although they host promotion searching Luton Town on Tuesday who today, host Mansfield.
In the South division, Chelmsford host tenth placed Sutton with the Clarets boss Pennyfather having to pick a squad around a collection of injured players. A win could see Chelmsford move up to third.
For Sudbury, the Yellows make one of their shortest trips as they visit seventh-placed Witham for their non-league match. The Essex side have played one less game then AFC but have seven more points. Sudbury could name an unchanged side following Tuesday evening's win over Waltham Forest.
