Ipswich, Colchester and Southend, among other Football League clubs, will discover their first Capital One Cup opponents in mid-June, just before the full fixture list comes out.The draw for the First Round of the competition will be made on the morning of Monday 17th June - a couple of days before the league fixtures are confirmed.
The draw, which will be both seeded based on last season’s league tables, and also regionalised, will consist of 70 Football League clubs.
Therefore:-
Round 1: 70 Clubs
Round 2: 50 clubs (35 Winners, 1 Championship, 14 Premier League non-European clubs).
Round 3: 32 clubs (25 Winners, 1 Championship & 6 Premier League European clubs).
