There was a good day at the office for all our teams as Sudbury beat Haverhill 3-0, Ipswich played out a six-goal thriller in Nottingham while two Colchester teams both won away. Braintree fell to defeat away to Leiston.

Haverhill 0-3 AFC Sudbury

In this afternoon's early kick-off, Sudbury were the victors as they beat Haverhill Rovers 3-0 at the New Croft stadium with summer signings Thompson, Swatman and Lewis all scoring for the Yellows.

Sudbury took the lead after 13 minutes with Ben Thompson scoring the opening goal for the Yellows.

Ben Lewis collected Sudbury's second goal, with a strike after 33 minutes.

It was 3-0 late on in the second half when Payton Swatman rounded off the win with another goal.

Notts County 3-3 Ipswich

Town concluded their pre-season programme with a 3-3 draw against Notts County, in an entertaining game at Meadow Lane.

The Blues broke the deadlock in the first-half through Luke Hyam, with Daryl Murphy then extending the lead soon after.

Former Town man Danny Haynes then restored the deficit shortly before half-time, before Paul Taylor cracked home a free-kick to fire Mick McCarthy’s side back in front, the striker’s first goal in a Blue shirt.

However Chris Kiwomya’s Magpies then hit back with two late goals, with Manny Smith and then a solo effort from Yoann Arquin seeing them draw level.

Maldon & Tiptree 1-2 Colchester

Colchester played out a 2-1 win after victory over Essex side Maldon And Tiptree.

Daniel Pappoe gave the U's the lead after 15 minutes through a corner before Leon McKenzie brought Maldon back level in the opening minutes of the second half.

But Sears nicked the victory with a solo effort after 67 minutes.

The U's had a concern when Watt limped off the field throughout the second half.

Needham Market 0-3 Colchester

A second Colchester squad also recorded a win, with a 3-0 victory over Suffolk side Needham Market.

Marcus Bean slotted home a rebound effort for Colchester, with O'Donoghue blocked by Market keeper Plummet.

O'Donoghue setup the U's second goal, crossing a neat pass for Massey the slot home after 65 minutes.

Before Morrison confirmed the victory with a third goal for the U's to sum up a good day for two Colchester squads.

Leiston 2-0 Braintree

A goal in each half saw Braintree fall to defeat away to Leiston in one of the club's final pre-season matches.

Francis gave the Suffolk side the lead, with a goal after 37 minutes.

Leiston scored a second later on in the second half.

Braintree will now visit Lowestoft Town in their final pre-season friendly.
