Clarets sign Forecast and Paxman

Chelmsford have signed Southampton goalkeeper Tommy Forecast and Southend midfielder Jack Paxman

The 26-year-old goalkeeper joins the Clarets after turning down a deal from former loan club Gillingham after he was released from the Premier League side. Forecast played at Chelmsford's pre-season matches against Heybridge and Norwich.

Forecast played as a youngster at Tottenham from 2002 for five years, turning professional for a year before moving to Southampton. From there, he had loan spells at Grimsby, Eastbourne, Thurrock, Bromley and Gillingham.

The Clarets have also welcomed youngster Jack Paxman from Southend United. The versatile midfielder spent time out on loan at Ryman Division One North side Soham Town after impressing in the Shrimpers' Development Squad. The 19-year-old played at the Shrimpers for 8-years.
