Braintree took the points with two goals scored in two minutes to beat 10-man Surrey side Woking at Cressing Road.

Braintree took a 2-0 lead after the first half. Woking failed to defend with a low corner, with Holman hitting the ball into the net.

Two minutes later, Marks taps in his own rebound effort with a shot into a practically empty net past Cards keeper Howe.

Substitute Sole was sent off for Woking for overreacting and acting silly.

Sudbury 1-2 Soham Town

Sudbury's opening home match ended in defeat as Soham Town took three points in a 2-1 win for the visitors.

Luke Stanley gave Soham Town the lead, with Hall assisting him for 1-0 to the visitors.

Sudbury leveled the scores after half-time, with Forshaw with a powerful strike in the corner setup by Shinn and Baker.

But Sawyer made Sudbury pay for poor defense as Soham won the match with a goal after 66 minutes.

Alex Gilbey in action against Arsenal U21sAn impressive display by a young Colchester United side saw them beat their Arsenal counterparts on Tuesday night.

The first half in particular was outstanding from the home team, who pinned in their opponents and raced into a 3-0 half time lead. Wright gave U's the lead after a minute, before Hubble and Wright's second made it 3-0.

Playing some great football, they scored two more in a very pleasing performance, as the game eventually finished 5-1. Ladapo and Spence with Colchester's final two goal while Akpom scored from the pen spot for a consolation goal for the Gunners.

A Goulding penalty was Chelmsford's only goal as they lost 4-1 in a friendly against a Tottenham Hotspur XI squad at Melbourne Park.

Coulthirst gave the visitors the lead, with a strike after 12 minutes before Goulding's pen leveled the scores four minutes later.

But on 28 minutes, McQueen re-gave Spurs the lead with a goal after 28 minutes.

Coulthirst got himself a hatttrick with two goals in two minutes on 71 and 73 minutes to confirm the win for the visitors.
