Two goals in each half from Needham Market saw AFC Sudbury’s reserves defeated 4-0 in the First Division League Cup.
Sudbury started the match positively, with two free kicks with in the first 4 minutes – first, Fisher fired the ball straight at Needham’s keeper Bradbrook, before Steve Adam took a second free-kick, which was also blocked.
Needham Market, who played a squad filled with apprentice players, took an early lead after 9 minutes through an own goal which deflected in from a corner.
AFC’s Steve Chisholm was booked for a serious tackle on a Needham player in the 23rd minute.
A minute later, Blake Kicks set up Carl Daw with his effort easily collected by the visitor’s keeper, Bradbrook.
It was 2-0 in the 26th minute, when good build-up play saw the ball met Adam Mills who looped the ball past Sudbury keeper St Ledger into the top right corner.
Sudbury’s final shot of the half came from Daw with his shot saved on the stroke of half-time.

AFC’s Cawtheray was replaced by Dan Smith during half-time.
In the 59th minute, Needham’s Ace Howell was booked for kicking the ball away after a free-kick was awarded. An unknown Needham player was booked six minutes later.
In the 67th minute, Ryan Kent came on for Andy Fisher.
Throughout the final half-an-hour of play, Needham began to dominate the play, with Sudbury unable to clear the ball through to the strikers.
Two shots from Needham’s Ace Howell proved a threat to the Sudbury defence in the 71st minute, with keeper St Ledger keeping the Yellows in the game.
Needham had a corner in the 70th minute: Harrison Ford drilled in the ball towards defender Connor Corwick who headed in the ball to make it 3-0.
Following some defending from Sudbury, the ball came to Yellows striker Lee Ilfield, with Harrison Ford sliding in on the Yellows player to cause a row between the players. The referee split the pair up and booked Ford.
Jake Jackson was booked for the Yellows for a tackle with eight minutes to play (82’).
The Marketmen put the game out of sight with a goal from Harrison Ford who was 1-on-1 with the Yellows keeper for 4-0.
A very disappointing performance sees Sudbury knocked out of the Division One Cup with Needham progressing on to face Whitton United.
