Ipswich 2-0 Brighton & HA
Two goals from David McGoldrick saw Ipswich beat Brighton by two goals to nil, at Portman Road.
Not for the first time this season, McGoldrick let fly from distance and the ball nestled in the top corner after taking a deflection off Andrews.
McGoldrick doubled his team's advantage just four minutes later after Gerken's long clearance was flicked on by Daryl Murphy and the former Nottingham Forest man found himself one-on-one with Greer.
The in-form marksman shaped to shoot, before cutting past the Seagulls skipper and rifling a shot into the far corner with his left foot.
The best the visitors could muster was an Ashley Barnes shot from the edge of the area that never looked like troubling Dean Gerken's goal.
Bristol City 1-1 Colchester
Sam Baldock's fifth goal of the season handed Bristol City a draw against Colchester United.
Matthew Taylor gave the U's a first-half lead against the run of play when he headed in Luke Garbutt's cross from the left.
Baldock then equalised with a smart finish from eight yards.
The City captain headed wide as the hosts pressed for a late winner, but the visitors held on and the Robins are still without a victory in League One.
Colchester may even have stole it themselves when Jabo Ibehre went through on goal, but defender Derrick Williams produced a brilliant last-ditch tackle.
Southend 1-1 Bristol Rovers
Played Friday
Kevan Hurst's second-half strike saw Southend come from behind to take a point against Bristol Rovers.
The Shrimpers started the second half brighter but it was Matt Harrold who gave the Gas the lead. The ex-Southend player headed home Michael Smith's cross.
Kevan Hurst replied on 67 minutes, turning 20 yards out to fire home left footed.
Braintree 3-1 Alfreton Town
Braintree climbed into the top five in the Conference Premier with a convincing home victory over Alfreton.
With all the goals coming in the second half, it was Charlie Strutton's well-struck volley that gave the hosts the advantage.
Sean Marks' 84th-minute header and Daniel Sparkes' tap in three minutes later wrapped up the points for high-flying Braintree.
Bradley Wood fired home a goal for Alfreton, in the 89th minute, but it was not enough, as Braintree took three valuable points.
Biggleswade Town 2-0 Chelmsford
Southern League Premier side Biggleswade Town recorded a shock defeat, as they beat Chelmsford in the second qualifying round of the FA Cup.
Goals from Craig Daniel and Max York gave the Bedfordshire outfit the win to secure a place in the third round, and putting pressure on manager Dean Holdsworth.
