AFC Sudbury have announced that winger Steve Spriggs has signed an extension of his contract, keeping him at the club until the end of the 2014/15 season.
Spriggs had already signed a dual registration a month ago from King’s Lynn Town, where he was their top scorer last season netting 30 goals. He helped the Norfolk club gain promotion to Step 3 last year but decided to leave on a permanent basis two weeks ago. AFC won both the league games in which he played during the dual registration period, and he scored once in those games.
Spriggs has previously worked with Manager David Batch at Wroxham, where he was a key part of the Norfolk sides FA Vase run to Wembley and teams up at AFC with Ross Watson, who also previously played at Kings Lynn.
Manager David Batch said, ‘I expect Steve to be a key signing for the club and I am confident that he will help us achieve our aim of continual improvement’.
Steve Spriggs said, ‘I am happy to be at AFC on a permanent basis. I know that I will enjoy my football there and hope we can work hard to progress the club on the pitch’.
