Colchester boss Joe Dunne says he has not made contact with Ipswich regarding a loan deal to the Weston Homes Community Stadium for ex-U’s midfielder Anthony Wordsworth.
Dunne was at Town’s U21 match on Monday to watch the 24-year-old in action but confirmed that he has not followed up his interest at his pre-match press conference this morning.
“Anthony is available for loan at Ipswich but I don’t think he’ll be coming to us," he said.
Speaking at Tuesday's event at Ufford Park, Wordsworth said a move was close to being finalised: “It’s something that we’re looking at the moment."
