Matchday Preview - Sat 28 Dec

Braintree v Tamworth
Braintree return to action as they take on Tamworth at Cressing Road. The Lambs drew 1-1 with Nuneaton in their Boxing Day fixture, whereas Braintree lost 1-0 at Cambridge

Braintree boss Alan Devonshire said striker Dan Holman may be a doubt for tomorrow’s Skrill Premier game against Tamworth at the Amlin Stadium.

Holman (right, centre) had to come off at half-time in the Iron’s 1-0 defeat at Cambridge United on Boxing Day and Devonshire said he may not be fit to face the Lambs: “I think it will make him a doubt for Saturday, but we’ll have to have a look at him before the game.”

Devonshire is expecting a different test from the one they had at the Abbey Stadium on Boxing Day.

He added: “It will be a very different game and I expect them to be big and physical, but it depends on the weather. Hopefully we can get the game on and we’ll get a chance to bounce back.

“We have to be looking for three points from games like this, but it will be tough because they are a big side who will pose a physical challenge.”

Chelmsford v Concord Rangers
Chelmsford will make the short trip to Canvey Island to take on Concord Rangers, when they meet on Saturday. The two sides look to build upon victories that were recorded on Boxing Day. Concord recording a 2-0 win over struggling Boreham Wood while the Clarets beat Bishop's Stortford 2-1.

Concord Rangers recorded a 2-2 draw at Melbourne Stadium on the opening day of the Skrill South season back in August before the Beachboys defeated the Clarets on penalties earlier in December in the Essex Senior Cup Fourth Round.
