Two goals from David McGoldrick helped take Town further towards the play-offs with a comfortable 3-0 victory at the Keepmoat Stadium.
Ipswich took a 1-0 lead after 24 minutes which McGoldrick thumped home his header from a Cresswell-taken corner.
The Blues soon got a second as Tunnicliffe’s corner was headed in by Chambers after 30 minutes.
Dean Gerken preserved Town’s two goal advantage on 38 minutes with a brilliant save from Mark Duffy’s excellent free-kick.
Blues sealed the points in the 51st minute as Tunnicliffe set up McGoldrick to easily beat goalkeeper Turnbull in style.

Colchester United had a day to remember at the Weston Homes Community Stadium, as they thumped Stevenage 4-0.
Colchester took the lead with just ten minutes gone after some poor goalkeeping from Chris Day; Wilson's shot was fluffed by Day who dropped it under pressure, with Turgott hitting the loose ball in.
Just five minutes later, Ibehre gave the U's a 2-0 lead Wilson's free-kick met Day who parred it towards Ibehre to volley the ball in.
Colchester pushed on for a third to put the game out of reach and were 3-0 up soon after: Vose weaved past his defender into the edge of the box before setting up Turgott, with Eastmond tapping it in.
Eastmond got himself a brace as he hit in Watt’s low driven cross, to put the game out of sight for the Boro.

Woodrow's solo strike in the second half was enough to hand the Boxing Day points to Southend, after beating ten-man Wimbledon 1-0 at Kingsmeadow.

Luke Berry's first half strike gave Cambridge United a hard-fought victory over Braintree.
Braintree threatened through Dan Holman, who saw a swerving shot palmed away by Maxwell, but after the break United should have increased their lead. A low shot from Greg Taylor had to be parried away by Hamann, who also did well to stop a Cunnington shot.Berry saw a header cleared off the line after meeting a Tait corner, but the second goal didn’t come, and Braintree almost levelled in the closing stages when Cox got his head on a cross from the left but saw Maxwell make a diving save to push the ball away for a corner.

Callader's first-half brace sealed an impressive victory as Chelmsford beat Bishop's Stortford 2-1 at Melbourne Park.
The opening goal came after 14-minutes when Smith played an excellent cross to Joe Ward on the right who set up Luke Callander who guided his shot into the far corner.The Clarets raced into a 2-0 lead soon after as Greene cut-inside and had a pass deflected towards Callander who fired the ball past visiting keeper Wright
The visitors pulled one back on the 78th minute when Baker crossed to Enver-Marum who headed home.
