Heald boosts AFC squad ahead of busy schedule

Andy Heald has joined AFC Sudbury, following his arrival into the local area, to boost the Yellows' squad ahead of a busy match schedule in the coming weeks.

Heald, while at Manchester-based side
Salford City.
His former clubs include Morecambe, Leigh RMI, Stalybridge Celtic, Radcliffe Borough, Leigh Genesis, Warrington Town and most recently was at Salford City, where he performed a player-manager role with the Northern Premier Division One side.

Heald can play at Centre Back, Left Back, Centre Midfield of Left Midfield, adding experience to David Batch's squad.


With games coming thick and fast, boss David Batch felt the addition of Heald would be beneficial.

"It’s inevitable we will need extra bodies during this time for a variety of reasons and Andy’s leadership skills may help in some of those games."

AFC Sudbury host VCD Athletic in the Ryman North fixture, on Tuesday (weather-permitting).
