AFC Sudbury youngster Aidan Austin has won a contract that has signed him up for the Nike Global Football Academy.
Based at the National Football Centre at St George's Park, the association searches for undiscovered talent in football globally.
The 16-year-old has been a member of AFC Sudbury's squad since joining from Colne College last year. He is the only player selected from England, with other successful players joining from Brazil, Holland, South Africa and New Zealand.
The young player will now leave Brightlingsea's Colne College to be based with the Nike Academy full-time.
Suffolk FA Under-18 manager Andy Reynolds said: “From my perspective it is fantastic for Aidan to have such an opportunity to go and try to pursue his dream of being a professional footballer.
“The county wish him all the best and are grateful to have played a small part in his development.
“I am sure his club and college are equally proud of him and wish him all the best in the future as well.”
Following this news, the Colne Football Academy have agreed a new deal with AFC, for a fourth year of partnership between 2014 and 2015. Six players have been called up from the college, who have progressed through to first-team football, as well as county call-ups.
