Canaries striker joins Blues

Southend United have announced that striker Jamar Loza has joined on a one-month loan deal from Premier League side Norwich City.

Loza will be available for tonight’s game against Bristol Rovers at the Memorial Stadium and will wear the number 9 shirt.

The 19-year-old striker was part of the Canaries under-18 team that won the 2012/13 FA Youth Cup.

Manager Phil Brown was delighted to have been able to bring the striker in, saying: “I’m pleased to have Jamar with us. He’s a quick striker who has a real eye for goal.

“There has just been a bit of quality missing in the final third in recent weeks, but hopefully he can provide that. He’s a young lad who will be hoping to make a big impression. He’s highly regarded at Norwich.

“In the last two seasons we have seen Britt Assombalonga and Cauley Woodrow come on loan to the club and make an impact. We’re hoping Jamar can do exactly the same."
