Colchester have signed Crystal Palace defender Alex Wynter on a loan deal spanning until the end of the season.
The centre half or right back will be hoping to make the squad for Saturday's game for the U's at Notts County, in his first loan spell in League One.
Having signed for the Eagles as a nine year old, Wynter progressed through the youth and reserve teams, making his first team debut in the FA Cup tie against Sheffield Wednesday in 2010.
He has spent time on loan at non-league based Eastbourne Borough and Sutton United.
