Southend defender Ben Coker has made the Football League team of the week, between Mon 14th and Mon 21st April.

The defender helped the Blues to two wins between Friday and Monday, and was selected by the league for the team of the week.

The Football League said on its website: "Coker, fresh from signing a new two-year deal last week, played all 180 minutes across Friday and Monday as he helped Southend keep two clean sheets and pick up six-points to strengthen their grip on a Play-Off place in Sky Bet League 2."

The defender/midfielder, started his career playing for Northampton Town before playing for non-league sides Histon, Barton Rovers and Bury Town.

He left the Suffolk club for Colchester United, where he went on to have loan deals at Chelmsford and Histon. After a third spell at Histon, the Englishman moved to Roots Hall in 2013 where he has been since.
