Danny Laws is set to join AFC Sudbury's coaching staff, as the club search to create a new youth development structure at the club.

The former Needham Market and Leiston manager will join David Batch and Steve Eastaugh as the club look to invest in local talent to progress through to the future.

Head coach Steve Eastaugh told the AFC Sudbury website: "The club has not been producing enough young players for first team football.

"Danny’s arrival and our short term plans are the next step toward creating clear path of progression for young local talent’.

The club currently have a Reserves squad who perform in the Thurlow Nunn Eastern Counties League which allowed many players under the age of 21 to get a taste of senior football.

Laws has set up similar youth structures at Bury Town and and the West Suffolk College where players have progressed through to senior football.

Danny Laws told the club website: "I am delighted to be joining AFC Sudbury at such an exciting time; a few opportunities have come up for me to return to football since I left Leiston FC, but this job stood out. The chance to be part of a long term plan for a club with already such a great structure and rich history is a big appeal.

He will be joined by Craig Power for the club's under 21's level of football. Power has introduced Jordan Blackwell, Billy Cursons and Tom Wingfield to the team, who have progressed through to first team football.
