Thurston Youth Under 19s were victorious as they came from behind to beat AFC Sudbury Under 19s 2-1 after extra time, in the Suffolk and Ipswich Youth League Cup Final as played at the MEL Group Stadium.
Thurston got the fixture underway, and saw Luke Carter's early shot was no trouble for George Mutimer, who viewed the effort curve wide.
AFC's first noteworthy chance saw Luke McGhee's fifth minute effort curve over the bar, before a one-two between Michael Fisher and Tom Lait stopped by a strong tackle from Thurston skipper Josh Wilding.
Tom Lait was involved in another good setup for the Yellows, as he sent the ball towards skipper Ben Smith who crossed the ball back towards Lait who chipped the ball over the crossbar, in the eighth minute.
Two minutes later, Fisher crossed the ball from the left hand wing to Adam Clarke, who was unable to tap in the ball while in front of goal. The loose ball was claimed by Luke McGhee who saw his shot deflected away by a Thurston defender for a corner. Taken by Ben Smith, the ball was crossed in to Josh Lloyd who fired straight at the goalkeeper.
A Thurston free-kick taken by Craig Board in the 15th minute was easily claimed by AFC keeper George Murtimer.
Thurston earned their first corner in the 24th minute after a powerful attack from Dylan Peskett. The ball met the head of AFC centre-back Josh Lloyd who headed it away. At the other end of the pitch, Fisher's ball which was aimed towards Ben Smith was claimed by goalkeeper Lee Frost, who confidentally dived to catch the ball.
In the 26th minute, Thurston made a triple substitution as Hudson, Carter and Peskett came off for Williams, Mannell and Beaumont.

A pivotal moment occured in the 31st mintute when AFC's Tom Lait appeared to be fouled in the box by goalkeeper Lee Frost, with calls for a penalty being waved away by the referee.
The hosts kept applying pressure to Thurston, and saw a free-kick taken by Ryan Carter curve just wide of the top-left hand corner of the goal.
The pressure paid off on the stroke of half-time as Luke McGhee crossed the ball into Tom Lait who converted past Lee Frost.

The Yellows searched for a way back into the fixture, and saw a shot from Ryan Carter deflect off a Thurston defender.
In the 60th minute, Fisher headed the ball towards Tom Lait who headed the ball inches wide of Lee Frost's goal.
Thurston produced an attack and saw Carter's good work meet Peskett who set up Beaumont, but he fired wide of goal.
