Striker Dominic Vose has signed a two-year contract with Colchester this afternoon.
The forward joined the U's last season from Barnet during a loan spell, and persuaded the club to extend his contract.
Vose will be a key player in Joe Dunne's squad next season and is glad to be staying with the U's.
He told the club website: "It is nice to have a couple of years under my belt and now I just want to crack on and play some football.
"I've enjoyed my time here, it is a good club and a good enviroment and I felt settled as soon as I came here.
"The gaffer gave me a chance when noone else would and it makes perfect sense for me to stay here."
