Southend continued their pre-season build-up as they played a goalless draw with newly promoted Premier League side Queens Park Rangers.

Conor Clifford saw his 25-yard strike skim the crossbar in the 38th minute, and had another decent chance in the second-half, where his 52nd effort was punched away by the QPR 'keeper.

A brace from Stortford's Sheldon Shellars helped send Colchester United to a 2-0 defeat, in their latest pre-season outing.

U's Kent saw an effort 35 yards from goal slide across the roof of the crossbar in one of Colchester's most promising first half chances.

But after the break, two quick-fire goals from Sellears send Stortford to an unexpected victory.
