Stephen Hunt: Ipswich deal confirmed

Stephen Hunt: Signs new one-year deal at Portman RoadIpswich have completed their third summer signing after Stephen Hunt signed a one-year-deal at Portman Road.

Hunt spend the majority of last season at the Suffolk club, after joining from Wolves last summer.

Hunt started his youth career at Crystal Palace before signing for Brentford and moving on to Reading in 2005.

In 2009 he signed at the KC Stadium for Hull Ciy before joining up with Mick McCarthy at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

He also has international experience, playing for the Republic of Ireland senior team since 2007, making 39 appearances.

McCarthy told the club's official website: "We have resigned Hunty and we're delighted about that.

"He's a great character and is good to have around the place, not just for what he brings on the pitch but off it as well.

"The players took to him straightaway when he first arrived here last season.

"He's an experienced player who has played at the highest level and he will be a great asset to the squad."

This is Ipswich's third signing, joining Alex Henshall and Cameron Stewart.
