Jake Taylor's first half strike helped Reading beat Ipswich 1-0 in a dull match at the Madejski Stadium.

The 26th minute effort came from defensive issues from Ipswich which saw the Royals take advantage, with the winger scoring from close range past Town keeper Gerkin.

The Blues best effort saw a shot from Luke Chambers cleared off the line, with McGoldrick unable to cling onto the loose ball that was eventually released by the Reading defence.

Town's new signing Conor Sammon, who joined on Friday from Derby County, got twenty minutes under his belt for his first Ipswich apperance.

Bristol City 2-1 Colchester Utd

Bristol City came from a goal down to beat Colchester United, with Aaron Wilbraham's brace sealing a 2-1 win for the hosts.

Colchester, who were without suspended skipper Magnus Okuonghae, took the lead, as George Moncur's strike from Clohessy's cross beat City goalkeeper Frank Fielding.

But after the half-time interval, the hosts levelled the scores as Greg Cunningham fed the ball to former Norwich forward Wilbraham who beat Sam Walker.

And with twenty-two minutes left to play, 34-year-old Wilbraham secured the win, with a header from Wade Elliott.

Southend 2-0 Stevenage

Southend made it two league wins out of two as they comfortably beat relegated Stevenage by two goals to nil.

The Blues scored both goals inside the opening twenty minutes: a goal-kick from Bentley met Barry Corr who flicked the ball towards Miles Weston.

And ten minutes later, and Barry Corr was involved in Blues second goal, as he set up the ball for Coker who curled the ball home past Sam Beasant.

Southend are now the only team yet to concede a goal in League Two, as the Blues remain joint top alongside four other sides.

Braintree 1-3 Chester

Chester were another side who came from behind to win, as they beat Braintree 3-1 at the Amlin Stadium.

The Iron took a 24th minute lead through Kenny Davies' penalty, which they won after John Disney handled the ball inside the penalty area but was only booked.

John Rooney hit the woodwork for the visitors after half-time but minutes after, the Blues equalised through McConville's right-footed effort.

The visitors took the lead in the 64th minute through Chris Iwelumo's header before McConville's second strike of the deal completed Chester's second half comeback.

AFC Sudbury 3-3 Thamesmead Town

Thamesmead Town's injury time winner secured a point as they drew 3-3 against AFC Sudbury.

AFC took the lead after exactly two minutes through an Ollie Hughes strike before AFC defender Ryan Henshaw conceded an own goal from Probert's corner just minutes after.

The Mead took the lead in the 21st minute as Ross Murphy fired a 25-yard effort past home keeper Alex Archer.

Into the second half and the hosts equalised through Jake Reed, before Lee Flynn scored his first Sudbury goal to send them 3-2 ahead.

But the points were shared as Tyrus' late strike sealed a draw for the ecstatic Town bench.
