FANbase's Louis Byers caught up with AFC Sudbury midfielder and striker Ollie Berquez, who gave us his thoughts on his time so far with the Yellows, in an exclusive interview.
Ollie was disappointed after losing 3-0 against promotion searchers Aveley, and felt the sending off was a game-changing moment: "It was really disappointing to lose the game.
"The sending off (for Sam Clarke) did change the game. I thought it was a little bit harsh.
"We've been on a great run but we've got to start again now."
Sudbury travel to Conference side Braintree in the First Round of the FA Trophy, and Ollie is looking forward to the match.
"It will be a great game. We've done really well to get this far and prepare ourselves the best we can.
"We are complete underdogs and Braintree are a really good side. It'll be a massive challenge but one that the players will enjoy and are looking forward to.
"Obviously it'll be really difficult, but we'll approach the game in a positive way, and we'll give it our best shot."
Ollie would go for promotion over a good cup run with AFC: "I just want to win every game. We'll do the best we can.
"If I'd have to pick one, it'd be promotion because it's our main aim this season."
The 34-year-old fitness trainer joined Sudbury during late October, and has been enjoying his time and club, feeling there is a good set-up.
"It's a great club. There is a good management team. They are very professional and try to do things right. It's (got) a good fan base, and it's (a) well run club.
"But (I'm) thoroughly enjoying (my time) so far."
Before he joined the Yellows, Ollie has played for several clubs, including Chelmsford City, Canvey Island, Stevenage, Maldon and Tiptree, and Dagenham and Redbridge. When asked what club he most enjoyed playing at, he could not choose one:
"Hard to say really. (I've) played at some really great clubs. Chelmsford and Canvey are great clubs - the boys and the management team are great. I loved played there and had great success at both of them." Berquez also enjoyed his time at Stevenage, during some of the club's non-league years.
His main objective with Sudbury this season will be to gain promotion.
"That'll be the big aim for this season. We've done well already in many competition. (We will) win as many games as we can and see where it takes us.
"Certainly, promotion would be a big achievement for this year."
Many thanks to Ollie Berquez for allowing me to interview him. AFC Sudbury travel to Braintree Town in the FA Trophy on Saturday (3pm kick-off).
