Ipswich through to play-offs

Ipswich are through to the play-offs for the first time in ten years, despite a 3-2 defeat away at Blackburn Rovers.

Daryl Murphy made it a great start for the Tractor Boys, when he headed home after 70 seconds.

However, two quick fire goals from Jordan Rhodes and Craig Conway, in six minutes, put the home side ahead.

Gestede secured the win for Blackburn after slotting home in the 58th minute, despite a late Daryl Murphy penalty, with eight minutes to play.

With a 3-0 shock win for Reading over Derby County at the iPro Stadium, it meant Ipswich proceded to the play-offs on goal-difference, behind Brentford, Middlesbrough and 3rd place Norwich.

Ipswich will host Norwich in the first-leg of the semi-finals on Saturday 8th (Sky Sports, kick-off 12.15pm), with Brentford hosting Middlesbrough on Friday 7th (Sky Sports, kick-off 7.45pm). The second legs will be played a week later.
