REPORT & GALLERY: AFC Sudbury Community 1-2 Oyster FC - #JenkinsShield Final




AFC Sudbury's Community team were defeated 2-1 to Oyster FC, in the Jenkins Shield final, at the Wardale-Williams Stadium.

James Wargent gave the visitors the lead after 22 minutes, heading the ball home from a corner.

The Oysters doubled their lead, in the 42nd minute, as Alex Pacey fired home from a free-kick,  past Ben Baldwin.

The Yellows pulled a goal back in the 70th minute, after the referee awarded a free-kick to the hosts in the box. The original free-kick was ruled out, but was retaken by skipper Scott Hollington, who smashed the ball home from close range.

Ben Smith had an effort blocked for the hosts in the first half, while Oscar Knebel saw an effort curve wide, in a one-on-one situation with visiting goalkeeper Dennis Paines. 

Tom Birch headed Pacey's free-kick wide in the 11th minute, while James Wargent saw an effort cleared off the line by Ben Baldwin.
