Southend will have to compete in the Skybet League Two play-offs, after falling to a 3-1 defeat against Morecambe this afternoon, with teams around them capitalising on the result.
Southend fell behind early on, after Redshaw got the better of Blues keeper Daniel Bentley, after only four minutes.
But Blues were level, six minutes later (10') through Jack Payne's effort.
Morecambe regained the lead after half-time, as Aaron Wildig fired home on 54 minutes, before Jamie Devitt extended the home side's lead.
Wins for Bury and Wycombe meant Southend fell to 5th place, following Saturday afternoon's fixtures.
The play-off picture sees Wycombe, in 4th place, facing Plymouth, in 7th place, while Southend play Stevenage, in the two play-off semi-final fixtures. Bury take the third and final automatic promotion place.
Southend, who were finalists of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy in 2013, will look to make a return to the iconic Wembley Stadium, for the final of the play-offs.
