Braintree Town to host public exhibition in regard to new stadium

Braintree Town have announced on their club website that they intend to submit a planning application to Braintree District Council, 'in the coming months', regarding a new site for a new club stadium.

The club, who currently play at a 4,151-capacity stadium in Cressing Road, are set to submit an application for a 'mixed use development' in Panfield Lane, Braintree.

Club members and local residents have been invited to attend a public exhibition which will be held in the Glebe Community Hall on Friday 10th & Saturday 11th July. Supporters will be allowed to express their opinion towards the development.

However, the council are currently in search of development locations to build more houses.

The club have been planning for a new stadium, since plans were announced for a new stadium in 2008, when the club were in the then-Conference South division.

The club have gained promotion to the top level of non-league football since then, and are 'in touching distance of the Football League'.
