Colchester United have announced that they have signed Millwall defender Matthew Briggs, following his release from The Den.The 24-year-old left-back was on loan at the Weston Homes club last season, being played 18 times for the U's, and joins the club on a two-year deal.
He becomes Colchester's third summer signing, following the arrivals of 22-year-old defender Richard Brindley and former West Ham youngster Kieran Bailey.
