Preston North End 1-2 Ipswich

A second half strike from Ryan Fraser helped Ipswich Town remain top of the Skybet Championship, as they beat Preston North End 2-1.

The Suffolk side took the lead as Brett Pitman headed home from Sears' 23rd minute cross.

Preston, who were promoted from League One last season, equalized in the 37th minute through Dan Johnson's left-footed effort, to make it all square at the break.

Ryan Fraser scored the winner for the Tractor Boys the lead, with a stunning strike from 30-yards out, in the 65th minute.

Town next in action away to Doncaster Rovers, in the Capital One Cup Second Round on Tuesday evening.

Fleetwood Town 4-0 Colchester

Fleetwood Town cruised to a comfortable 4-0 victory, as they beat Colchester United in Skybet League One. 

A quick first half double from Jimmy Ryan (24') and David Ball (26') gave the hosts an early lead.

Jamie Proctor put the hosts 3-0 up early on in the second half, with a right-footed effort past Parish, before substitute Jamille Matt confirmed the win with a strike in the closing stages.

The U's sit second-from-bottom in the league, on 2 points.

Southend 0-1 Swindon Town

Southend continued their struggling start to League One life, as they were defeated narrowly 1-0 to Swindon Town.

Fabien Robert scored the only goal of the match in the 62nd minute to separate the two sides.

Noel Hunt sent a close range effort high over the bar in the second half for the Blues, following Ben Coker's cross.

The Blues fell to 21st in the league, on 2 points, but have a better goal-difference compared to their Essex rivals.

Braintree 1-0 Southport

Daniel Sparkes scored in the 23rd minute, as his side beat Southport 1-0 at Cressing Road.

Sparkes scored a left-footed effort from Akinola's headed pass, as the Iron saw off Southport.

Luke Forster saw his effort just after half-time curve wide of Norris' goal, for the visitors.

Braintree sit 13th on 7 points, following the win.

AFC Sudbury 2-6 Cray Wanderers

AFC Sudbury's unbeaten start to the Ryman North season came to an end, as they were thrashed 6-2 by London side Cray Wanderers.

Leigh Bremner gave Cray a 12 minute lead, after the ball was cut in from the left, before Karl Dent weaved through Sudbury's defense and fired past Bowers in the 29th minute.

Cray were 3-0 up before half-time, as Andre McCollin slotted home, before Grant Basey scored with a free-kick in the 48th minute to extend Cray's lead.

Sudbury were back i nthe match, as two quick-fire goals from Luke Callander gave AFC hope of a comeback.

But McCollin and Bremner got their second goals of the matches, as they confirmed Wanderers' win late on.

AFC fell to 5th following the heavy result, missing out on the chance to stay top, and have now conceded 11 goals in two matches.
