PREVIEW: AFC Sudbury v Romford FC (Ryman North)

AFC Sudbury will look to bounce back from their Ryman North play off defeat in the 2014-15 season, as they host Romford FC, on the opening day of the new season.

The Yellows will play a historic opening match when they open their 3G-pitch this afternoon, with their match against the Essex club. They will be the second club in the Ryman North division to own a 3G-pitch, alongside Harlow Town, who the players will have experience using.

Luke Callander, who picked up an injury in the club's 5-1 victory over National League North side Lowestoft Town, looks to be available this afternoon.

Romford have had a busy pre-season, signing and resigning over 15 new players. The club had a disappointing season, ending in 20th place, three points from safety. Sudbury beat the 'Boro' 3-0 at AFC, and 1-0 at Romford last season.

Paul Martin, Romford boss, also signed a new contract, with Romford's officials feeling he was the 'only person to take the club forward'.

AFC have also had a busy pre-season, on the field, as they have signed goalkeepers Ollie Bowles (Concord/Brentwood) and Luis Tibbles (Wroxham), Harlow defender Robbie Martin and Bury midfielders Ross Bailey and Liam Wales.

Danny Laws, and his AFC Sudbury Reserves team start their third consecutive Thurlow Nunn League season, as they travel to Debenham LC, in their opening game.
