PREVIEW: AFC Sudbury Reserves vs Cornard United (Thurlow Nunn First Division - 3pm KO)

AFC Sudbury Reserves return to Thurlow Nunn League action on Bank Holiday Monday, when they host neighbours Cornard United, in a local derby.

Location: Wardale-Williams Stadium, Sudbury
Date: Monday 28th December 2015
Kick-off: 3pm
Competition: Thurlow Nunn First Division

The AFC side will play their first home match in over five weeks when they welcome the Blackhouse Lane club, who are situated just four miles away from the Wardale-Williams Stadium.

Danny Laws' side ran out 1-0 winners away at March Town United on Saturday 17th, and have only lost once since November.

Wins over Yarmouth, Halstead, Haverhill Borough and March Town have seen the Yellows rise to an excellent 7th place in the table.

The Ards, currently managed by Chris Tracey and coached by Jack Wignall, will come up against their former side on Monday, and will be looking to pick up their first win following defeats to Ely City (3-0 home), Downham Town (2-1 away) and March Town United (1-0 home).

Sudbury currently sit seventh on 27 points, while Cornard sit 17th on 14 points.

This season's reverse league meeting saw Harry Seal and James Axcell's goals seal a 2-0 win for Sudbury at Blackhouse Lane. The two sides will meet again, later this season, in the Suffolk Senior Cup quarter-finals (March 5th).

There is no match for the first-team this afternoon, so fans are encouraged to visit this match today.
