Kevin Foley: Former Wolves defender joins Ipswich

Ipswich Town have completed the signing of former Wolverhampton right-back Kevin Foley, until the end of the season, with Foley reuniting with his former Wolves boss, Mick McCarthy.

The 31-year-old English-born defender, who can also operate in midfield, started his career as a youngster at Luton Town. He progressed through the ranks at Luton, where he made his first-team Hatters debut in 2002.

He made 151 appearances for Luton, before signing for Wolves, under McCarthy, in 2007. He spent 2014 and 2015 on loan at Blackpool.

He spent 2015 at Danish side FC Copenhagen. He spend November on trial at Shrewsbury Town and Reading, but was unable to earn a contract at either club. He joins Town as a free agent.

The Irish international has played for the Republic side, between 2009 and 2012, qualifying for Ireland through his parents.

He will be part of the Town squad who travel to Birmingham, subject to international clearance.
