AFC Sudbury's Academy complete US tour

AFC Sudbury's Academy travelled to America, as they toured Philadelphia to face off against several US academy clubs.

The Yellows traveled to Philadelphia, PA on Monday, where they played two games against FC Revolution. Match one saw four goals from Brad Beevis and a brace from Ryan McNicholas giving Sudbury a 6-0 win.

The two teams re-matched, with AFC picking up a 3-1 victory over their American hosts. Jordan Blackwell scored once, with Charlie Gilbert scoring twice.

On Tuesday, the squad travelled to Reading, PA where they met the Reserve squad of Reading United AC. Gilbert and Blackwell were both on the score-sheet, as the UK visitors took a 2-1 victory away from the Athletics Club. Christian Sload scored the singular home goal.

The Academy side fell to their first defeat in their fourth match as they were defeated 2-0 to Continental FC's academy team.

The squad also visited other events around the campus ground on Tuesday, including watching a local basketball event.

Wednesday saw the Yellows face off against Reading United's Reserve side at Alvernia University, PA. AFC took a 3-0 victory, with a brace from Gilbert, and a goal for Tyler French.

Game six saw Junior Lone Star U23s face off against the AFC side, in what was the home side's first International fixture. Bill Walleekendeh scored twice as the American side sent AFC to their second defeat, at Alvernia University.

The AFC team also attended the Philadelphia Union vs LA Galaxy match and visited Saint Joseph's University on Wednesday.
