Braintree sign Hempstead goalkeeper and Eastleigh striker

Braintree Town has signed striker Jack Midson from National League side Eastleigh, and goalkeeper Jamie Butler, from National League South club Hemel Hempstead.

Butler and Midson become Jamie Day's sixth and seventh summer signings, following the arrival of Harry Lee, Barney Williams, Lee Barnard, Craig Braham-Barrett, and the unnamed centre-half.

32-year-old forward Jack Midson started his career at Stevenage in 2001, and had numerous loan spells at clubs including Harlow, Hayes, Chelmsford and Hendon.

He permanently moved to Arlesey Town in 2003, before signing for Dagenham & Redbridge.

Midson went on to feature for Bishop's Stortford, Histon, Oxford United, and AFC Wimbledon.

Midson was in Oxford's Conference play-off winning team of 2010, and featured in Wimbledon's first few years as a professional team, between 2011 and 2014.

24-year-old 'keeper Jamie Butler has featured in the England 'C' squad, having started his career at Metropolitan Police.

Butler has also previously played for Concord Rangers in 2014.
