Colchester make triple signing

Colchester United have signed defender Dexter Peter, midfielder Courtney Senior and striker Denny Johnstone, as the U's continue preparations for life in League Two.

19-year-old  Peter has signed a deal, following a trial for the Under-21s, who he will continue to be eligible for.

The central-back was released by Millwall's academy, but has played at National League South side Chelmsford City.

He will be confirmed as a player on July 1st.


18-year-old Senior has joined the U's from Championship club Brentford, who has signed a two-year-deal, on a free-transfer.

The winger has had a loan spell at Wycombe.

He will be confirmed as a player on July 1st.


21-year-old Johnstone has joined on an undisclosed fee from Birmingham City, and signed a two-year contract with the U's.

The forward was a youth player at Queen of the South and Celtic, before joining the Midlands club. He has represented Scotland at international level, between U16 and U19.

He has had loan spells at Macclesfield, Cheltenham, Burton followed, before having a loan period at Scottish side Greenock Morton.

His move will be completed subject to the necessary paperwork clearance.
