The Yellows welcome the Thurlow Nunn League side on Saturday on the back of an unbeaten start from their opening six Ryman League games. The Yellows' most recent match saw them pick up a 2-2 draw away at Suffolk neighbours Lowestoft Town.
Halstead Town will play their fourth match in the FA Cup on Saturday. Their cup run started in early August, when they beat Newmarket Town 2-1 in a 're-played' tie, that was originally abandoned. In the next round, the Humbugs pulled off a shock result as they beat Thurrock 3-2 at their home ground.
The last competitive fixture between the two sides was in April 2006, as AFC beat Halstead 4-1, in their promotion season in Essex. It has been 17 years since Town last beat a Sudbury 1st team side at Brundon Lane.
There are no injury concerns for Jamie Godbold's AFC side going into today's fixture.
If a score-draw is the result in today's fixture, a replay will be played in Essex on Tuesday 6th September.
