Harry Hart produced a good effort for Hullbridge in the twelfth minute, which forced AFC goalkeeper Luca Collins to turn the ball away; the resulting corner was cleared by the home side.
Two minutes after, Callum Fuller attempted the strike the ball over ‘Bridge goalkeeper Lewis Catling, but the effort was caught. However, Callum Vincent was fed the ball and produced a good effort to put the Yellows ahead, just moments after.
In the nineteenth minute, Hullbridge’s Will Holland picked up a booking for a foul. Holland then produced a good delivery, to feed the ball into the box, but Luca Collins easily collected the ball.
Callum Vincent almost got his second goal of the afternoon, as he curled a free-kick towards the bottom left corner, although Lewis Catling made a good stop to deny the AFC man.
However, Hullbridge equalised soon after, when Ashley Pibworth headed the ball home at the far post, but the Yellows regained their lead in the 31st minute, with Callum Vincent slotting home past Catling.
Pibworth looked to level it up for the Southend-based visitors, although his header was saved well by Luca Collins.
Sudbury soon extended their lead in the thirty-sixth minute through an own goal, as Shakra Reza turned the ball into his own net, after the play was originally marked offside.
Milo Grimes sent a long ball towards Callum Fuller, but goalkeeper Lewis Catling claimed the effort. Afterwards, an AFC attack which saw Ben Hunter play the ball forward towards Kie Dyer, who crossed the ball towards Callum Fuller, was ruled off for offside.
The last chance of the half fell to Hullbridge, as Will Holland headed the ball towards Ash Pibworth, who headed the ball directly towards Luca Collins.

The ‘Bridge won a penalty, in the sixty-sixth minute from a foul by Collins: Pibworth took the spot-kick, but Luca Collins was equal to the effort, which deflected away for a corner.
Substitute Aaron Pengelly sent a good cross in towards Kade Ivatt, who produced an excellent acrobatic effort, which flew just wide of the Hullbridge goal, before Callum Fuller saw a chance clip just wide, in a tight angle.
