Southend striker Nile Ranger has been allowed to play in the Shrimper's match this weekend, after being accused of fraud and money laundering.
The offences against the 25-year-old were committed in February 2015, with the sum of money suggested to be over £2,000.
Ranger signed a three-and-a-half year contract with Southend at the start of this month, having not played first-team football since 2014.
The club said they will monitor the event, saying they do not think this should affect his playing career.
