PREVIEW: AFC Sudbury vs Gosport Borough (Buildbase FA Trophy Round 1)


AFC Sudbury will look to cause a cup upset, when they take on National League South side Gosport Borough, in the first round proper of the Buildbase FA Trophy.

The Yellows go into Saturday's game, following defeats to Harlow Town (last Saturday), and AFC Hornchurch in the League Cup (on Tuesday).

Erkan Okay will look to make his home debut, having been in the stands for last weekend's match against Harlow, and playing a full 90 minutes at Hornchurch. The defender/midfielder's arrival was announced last weekend.

James Baker will also return to Jamie Godbold's side, after missing Tuesday's evening's match.

Hampshire based Gosport Borough go into the match on the back of a 4-4 draw away at Whitehawk, and a 5-2 defeat at home to Concord Rangers, the latter match being played in front of an impressive 1,005 spectators.

The Boro' will play their first match in the competition this season, while Sudbury have defeated Bowers & Pitsea, Romford and Kings Langley, to reach this stage.

Borough, sit 13th in the Vanarama League South, and were finalists in 2014, where they were defeated 4-0 by Cambridge United.
