Preview: AFC Sudbury vs Bognor Regis Town (Ryman League)


Relegation-threatened Sudbury will look to pick up valuable points as they welcome Ryman Premier leaders Bognor Regis to the Wardale-Williams Stadium.

The Yellows drew 0-0 away at Worthing in last weekend's fixture, and are in a stronger position to survive the league after receiving 3 points from January's abandoned Hendon game.

And a win over their West Sussex opponents could potentially see the Yellows escape the drop zone, depending on results for Burgess Hill (who host Harrow Borough on Sat) and Kingstonian (who travel to Worthing).

AFC who welcome a Bognor side who will look to return to winning ways, after a 1-0 defeat for the Rocks at Enfield Town on Saturday. Prior to that, the Rocks were undefeated in the last seven games.

Bognor boss Jamie Howell was named the Ryman League Manager for March, while goalkeeper Dan Lincoln won the Ryman League Player of the Month, after conceding only three goals in six games, last month.

Former Chelsea midfielder Shabazz Omofe and Portsmouth loanee Tommy Scutt will both look to feature for Bognor, following their arrivals last week. The Rocks are also awaiting fitness updates on James Fraser, Dan Beck and Gary Charman, while Tommy Block is also in the squad.

Sam Clarke and Ryan Henshaw are unavailable for the hosts (suspensions), while Tyler French returns after completing his suspension. Meanwhile, Leiston loanee Joe Marsden returns to his parent club.

Sudbury supporters can vote for their player of the season, with voting beginning in the clubhouse at 2pm Saturday.
