REPORT: AFC Sudbury Res 4-4 Diss Town

An entertaining 4-4 draw saw AFC Sudbury and Diss Town take a share of the spoils, in Sudbury's final home game of the season.

Mackie's brace and Hunsdon's strike helped Diss gain a 4-2 lead at half-time, but two second half finishes from Mitchell and Judge meant the Yellows completed a comeback, in an entertaining match.

Sudbury's Curtis Child was the first goalkeeper in action, as he was forced to claim a loose ball following a defensive mistake.

The Yellows took the lead in the 5th minute as Ben Hunter was played in a one-on-one position and fired home past Diss keeper George Macrae.

Ollie Peters saw a chance in the 9th minute, from McNicholas's cross, divert wide of Macrae's goal, while Harry Whayman's cross for Diss came to othing.

However, the visitors drew level as Angus Mackie tucked the ball home after Curtis Child spilled the ball, from a corner in the 15th minute,

And the Tangerines took the lead, just moments after, as Angus Mackie unleashed an excellent strike which beat Child, from the restart.

In the 32nd minute, Diss extended their lead when Hayden Pain sent the ball to Mackie, who set up Shaun Hunsdon who tapped home.

Diss came close to scoring their fourth, as goalscorer Mackie set up Hayden Pain, and struck straight at Child who blocked the effort, before Harry Whayman struck the loose ball over.

However, the Yellows continued to press, and earned a second goal as Callum Watson sent the ball to Ben Judge who slammed home for 3-2.

The visitors scored a fourth goal as a Diss corner was sent into a box and was headed into the net by a Sudbury player in the 44th minute (own goal).

The home side started the second period brightly, and almost scored as Thomas Dettmar saw his attempt find the back of the net, but he was marked offside by the linesman.

The Yellows did score, five minutes after, as Ben Judge knocked the ball past George Macrae at a tight angle. Diss Town's Jack Tipple received a caution on 53 minutes.

And Sudbury drew level in the 56th minute as Toby Mitchell tapped the ball home after goalkeeper George Macrae spilled the ball.

A double substitution for Diss saw Ashley Baxter and Calum Bray replaced by Jason Cole and Adam Burroughs in the 62nd minute. For the hosts, Ben Judge made way for Oliver Gravetti.

Four minutes later, Jake Colclough was replaced by Kie Dyer.

Sam Mills came close for the home side, as he headed at George Macrae in the 73rd minute.

Town's final change saw Thomas Wright replace Harry Whayman in the 77th minute.

Ben Norton-Hugman saw his effort saved low by AFC's Child, while Ollie Peters saw a cross caught by the visiting keeper.
