Boss Hakan Hayrettin exits Braintree Town

Braintree Town have announced that manager Hakan Hayrettin has left Cressing Road by mutual consent.

The former Luton coach leaves the Iron following the club's relegation out of the National League.

Hayrettin replaced Jamie Day in September, and led the Iron to the second round of the FA Cup, and to the third round of the FA Trophy, but could not rescue them from relegation.

Their relegation came 12 months after facing Grimsby Town in the National League play-offs.

The Essex club have had four permanent bosses since their promotion from the Conference South in the 2010-11 season.

Previous Iron managers since 2011:
-Alan Devonshire (May 2011 to Apr 2015)
-Mark Samson (caretaker)
-Danny Cowley (May 2015 to May 2016)
-Jamie Day (May 2016 to Sep 2016)
-Hakan Hayrettin (Sep 2016 to May 2017)
