Colchester United will not be offering a new contact to defenders Matt Briggs and Lloyd Doyley, the club have announced.
Doyley joined on a free transfer in October and has made three appearances in a U's shirt.
Briggs joined on a free transfer in 2015, following a loan deal from Millwall throughout the 2014/15 season, but injury cut his playing time short. He has made 65 appearances for the U's.
Youth players Dexter Peter and Femi Akinwande. Ben Wyatt, Brendan Ocran and Rhys Williams have also been told that they will be released by the Weston Homes club.
All out-of-contract players will be discussing new terms throughout the summer.
