Braintree bring in eight players

Braintree Town have brought in eight new players over the past few weeks, as the Iron look to return to the National League following last season's relegation.


22-year-old striker George Sykes joins the club from recently relegated Isthmian Premier side Canvey Island, and comes with Football League experience with Bristol Rovers and Barnet.

22-year-old attacking midfielder Xavier Vidal signs on, after previously playing for Merstham, Hemel Hempstead and Welling United.

22-year-old winger Roman Michael-Percil was a youth player at Tottenham Hotspur, and went on to play for Billericay Town, Dulwich Hamlet and Met Police.

21-year-old defender Jonathan Muleba was part of Brad Quinton's Enfield Town side which reached the Ryman League play-offs last season, although he started his career at Chelsea.

23-year-old attacking winger Samir Bihmoutine spent eleven years at Arsenal, before going on to play for Bournemouth, Wealdstone and Hayes & Yeading.

27-year-old midfielder Scott Shulton returns to Braintree, having been part of the side's Conference South winning season, and also played for Bishop's Stortford, Hendon, Wingate & Finchley and Enfield.

22-year-old midfielder George Craddock joins, having most recently played for National League South side East Thurrock Utd, and started his career at league side Northampton Town.

Finally, 24-year-old defender Marc Okoye joins up with Quinton at Cressing Road, having previously played at Isthmian League sides Merstham and Dulwich Hamlet.
