EFL Fixtures released: Ipswich face Birmingham, Colchester take on Accrington and Southend battle Blackburn on opening day

Ipswich host Birmingham City, Colchester travel to Accrington Stanley, and Southend face relegated Blackburn Rovers on the opening day of the EFL on the weekend of 5th-6th January 2017.

Town's East Anglia derbies against Norwich are scheduled for Saturday 21st Oct (at Portman Road), and Saturday 17th Apr (at Carrow Road).

Ipswich end the season with matches against Aston Villa (home), Reading (away) and Middlesbrough (home).

After a trip to Accrington, Colchester will host Stevenage on Sat 12 Aug, before visiting Luton Town on Sat 19 Aug, and ending the month at home to Forest Green Rovers.

United's season is completed with trips to promoted side Lincoln City (Sat 21 Apr), and a long trip to Exeter City (Sat 5 May), with their last home against Swindon sandwiched between.

Southend United start the season against relegated sides Blackburn Rovers (home) on Sat 5th Aug, and Rotherham United (away) on Sat 12th Aug.

Blues end the season as they host MK Dons (Sat 21 Apr), travel to Bradford City (Sat 28 Aug), before hosting Bristol Rovers (Sat 5 May).
