Report: AFC Sudbury 4-1 Haverhill Rovers



A new look AFC Sudbury side picked up a 4-1 win over Thurlow Nunn Premier side Haverhill Rovers, in their first pre-season outing.

New signings Rhys Henry and Adam Mills were both on target, as AFC fielded two XI's against their lower league opponents.

Former Maldon man Henry gave the Yellows the lead in the 23rd minute, while Jack Newman struck home in the first half to double AFC's lead.

However, a Rovers side, which featured five under-18s, pulled a goal back shortly before the break.

In the second period, Tevan Allen extended Sudbury's lead as he tucked home Newman's blocked free-kick.

And in the closing staging, Adam Mills smacked home a fourth goal for AFC.

AFC's new signings Lheureux Menga, Jake Turner, Dave Cowley, Joe Claridge, Paul Walker all featured, while new coach Danny Potter was on the touchline alongside boss Jamie Godbold.
