Southend and Colchester to meet in EFL Trophy

Colchester and Southend are set to meet each other, in this season's EFL Trophy at the group stages.

The two sides have been drawn alongside Gillingham and an undetermined Category One academy side, in Group 2, in an attempt to minimize travel.

The Category One sides are set to be drawn on Wednesday 12th - they are all scheduled to play games away from home.
